Bio.

ingrid romero is an artist, educator, and community organizer, born and raised in New York City. They have been organizing for almost twenty years and bring over fifteen years of facilitation, education, community arts and youth work experience. ingrid has a BA in Art Education, with initial certification in Teaching Art K-12, from the City College of New York. She is a product of New York City Public Schools throughout her entire life.

ingrid has worked with Sadie Nash Leadership Project, The Brotherhood-Sister Sol, Kite's Nest and Global Action Project as a youth worker and educator. ingrid was a Create Change Fellow in 2017 through the Laundromat Project, part of the Documentary Production Workshop at Third World Newsreel in 2018, participated in the Museum Education Practicum at the Studio Museum in Harlem in 2019 and most recently a 2022-23 artist-in-residence at The Children’s Museum of the Arts. For the 2024-25 school year, they are an Actionist Fellow at Social Practice CUNY.

As an organizer, they are a core member of Frack Outta Brooklyn (FOBK) and Mi Casa Resiste, along with having served as a collective member (and former Co-Director) of Mayday Space in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Currently, ingrid is pursuing an MFA in Integrated Media Arts at Hunter College. She is also a lead instructor at The Moth, dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling, as well as an art educator and internship coordinator at their alma mater, City-As-School.
